About the Accommodation

Mar à Vista is your perfect home away from home. Located 750 meters from the coast, this spacious brand new 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom modern apartment sits on top of a hill and has a terrace with an unobstructed view of the ocean and daily sunsets and is ideal for a family, 2 couples, or a group of friends.

The apartment is located in a quiet building of 6 apartments with plenty of parking and an elevator.

The apartment offers a spacious entry way with a reinforced door. The bedrooms and bathrooms are on one side of the entry area and the living area with double doors is on the other side, providing some sound dampening between the two areas, perfect for afternoon naps or early risers.

One of the bedrooms is en-suite and the other is next to a large full bathroom. The apartment is ideal for a family of 4 or 2 couples. Both bedrooms have large built-in wardrobes. We can also add a playpen for small children in one of the bedrooms if requested. In addition, there’s a sofa bed with a double size mattress in the living room that can accommodate one or two more guests at an additional charge.

The house has large double glazed windows that allow for plenty of natural light to come in. The windows all have electric blackout blinds. The large and fully equipped kitchen has all the necessary equipment for you to feel at home, cook wonderful meals and have your morning coffee or tea with a sea view. There are two eating areas:

1. The balcony eating area is next to the kitchen, and has a tall table with 4 seats plus an extra child size table.
2. Inside, also next to the kitchen there’s a dining table that can accommodate up to 8 people. The table is usually set for 4 but let us know ahead of time and we can set up the table extensions for you.

The living area is spacious and bright.

The apartment is less than 500 m from the local bakery & café where you can get fresh bread & pastries every morning. They also serve meals throughout the day.

Other close-by places to grab a bite are Ribeira d’Ilhas Surf Restaurant & Bar and Boardriders Quicksilver.

You can buy groceries at Pingo Doce just 900m away.

The beaches

With endless beaches at your doorstep, you can choose a beach that is good to swim, surf or is wind protected. After booking we’ll send you an information pack about some of our favorites.

The famous Ribeira d'Ilhas beach is a 1.2 km northwest walk/drive from the apartment. This beach is best known for surfing as it has hosted numerous rounds of the ASP surfing World Tour championships. However, it’s also a great beach for kids and has a nice beach bar and restaurant. There are actually better waves in the area but most are harder to get to or more dangerous or not as consistently surfable.

Ericeira village beaches are 2.5 km southwest walk/drive from the apartment.

The apartment is 3 km from the center of Ericeira (1.5 km to the village edge).

In the summer Ericeira is a lively and buzzing weekend and vacation destination for couples and families. Unlike other small fishing villages however, Ericeira’s outstanding surfing beaches attract national and foreign surfers all year around making the village a chilled daytime scene and a lively nightlife hub throughout the year.
